Music Showcase

Northshore Music Department Shines at Annual Music Showcase!

On Wednesday, 20 November, Northshore’s music department proudly presented a wonderful music concert featuring performances by students from Years 3-9. The event, held in the undercover area, showcased the hard work and talent of our young musicians and singers.

The concert began with the Year 5 Concert band, who wowed the audience with their energetic performances of “Snooze Alarm” and “Popcorn Prelude”. The musicians, who have only been learning their instruments for a short time, played with impressive confidence and enthusiasm.

Following the Concert band, we heard group performances by our Year 5 and Year 6 instrumentalists, which included repertoire drawn from Christmas carols and contemporary songs performed in a variety of fun arrangements. The Primary choir then entertained the audience with “I Just Can’t Wait to be King”, featuring soloists from Years 3, 4 and 5.  All students demonstrated their growing musical skills and teamwork.

The final act featured a guest performance by the Year 9 Rock band, the Dolltas, who performed a selection of songs from their 45-minute set. They also wowed the audience with their first out-of-school performance at the George Street Festival in East Fremantle on 1 December.

The showcase was a true celebration of our student’s musical talents and a reminder of the importance of music in education. We are so proud of all the students for their commitment and creativity and look forward to seeing more musical performances in the new year.
