NIPSSA Swimming Carnival Highlights
On Thursday, 3 April, selected students from Years 3-6 had the exciting opportunity to compete in the NIPSSA Swimming Carnival held at Perth’s High-Performance Centre in Mt Claremont. Our students demonstrated incredible dedication and teamwork, having spent months preparing through the Swimming Squad at Butler State Swim.
Individual race participants were determined based on the results of our Inter House Swimming Carnival, showcasing the talent in our school. Notable performances included Rowan, who earned the title of Champion Boy for Year 6, highlighting his outstanding skill and determination. Additionally, the Year 6 boys relay team achieved a commendable second place, demonstrating great depth in their age group.
Throughout the day, there were numerous instances of success, with many students securing second and third places in their respective events. This event wouldn’t have been possible without the support of our dedicated community. A heartfelt thank you to Karina, Alyshia, and Kayleigh from the high school who assisted with marshalling the swimmers, as well as to our amazing parent volunteers who helped with timekeeping.
Looking ahead, we are excited to announce that Swimming Squad will resume for one morning a week in Term 4 for all competent swimmers. Additionally, we will be offering interim swimming lessons with the Education Department for all of our students. It’s shaping up to be another fantastic term of swimming!
