Primary Lunchtime House Competitions

Years 3 to 6, get ready for friendly competition and team spirit!

We are excited to announce that Week 5 marked the beginning of our much-anticipated Lunchtime House Competitions! Under Mrs Lategan’s guidance, our dedicated Year 6 Leaders have taken the initiative to plan and implement these competitions, ensuring that our students have a fantastic opportunity to engage in sports and teamwork.

After some thoughtful discussions and voting, our Year 6 Leaders created a list of sports to be played, starting with Ultimate Frisbee. JC and Alice represented the leaders during Assembly, sharing their enthusiasm with the school community. To spread the word about the Term One competition, posters were designed and displayed around the school.

During their lunchtime, the Year 6 Leaders also practised playing Ultimate Frisbee and learned how to facilitate games effectively. They then visited each class from Years 3-6, encouraging students to sign up for the competitions. To ensure a spirit of commitment and teamwork, all participants were asked to sign a Player Code of Conduct.

Before the competition officially began, Mrs Stewart provided an informative overview of the rules, followed by an engaging demonstration of the game from our Year 6 Leaders, equipping everyone with the knowledge needed to compete.

Games are scheduled every Monday for the Year 5 and 6 teams, while Year 3 and 4 will battle it out on Wednesdays. The excitement will culminate in finals during Week 9, with the winning Year 5 & 6 teams getting the chance to face off against our teachers in Week 10!

A huge congratulations to our Year 6 Leaders for orchestrating such a wonderful initiative! We’re looking forward to an energetic and fun-filled competition season ahead! Let the games begin!
