Riding the Waves: A Journey of Learning and Adventure
This term, our Year 9 and 10 Outdoor Education classes have been enjoying thrilling surfing sessions at Trigg Beach, guided by experienced coaches from Surfing WA. This exciting program has provided students with a fantastic opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of surfing while also promoting vital ocean safety awareness.
Throughout the sessions, students have been busy learning essential skills. They have become adept at reading waves, which is crucial for any aspiring surfer, and have gained a deeper understanding of the impact of swell, wind, tides, and currents on surf conditions. Most importantly, students have been mastering the art of standing on a surfboard, a skill that brings an exhilarating sense of achievement!
These hands-on experiences foster a love for the ocean and encourage teamwork, resilience, and a sense of responsibility towards our beautiful beaches. We are incredibly proud of our students and look forward to seeing how these newfound skills will grow!
Keep surfing the waves!
